Simpson 260® Series 5

This is the base model of the Simpson 260-5 series. No mirrored dial or overload protection.

All improvements over the previous series are inside. This model takes the banana jack type test leads.

 Like the Simpson 260-5P, The 260-5 does not show anything about a Taut Band Suspension dial.

Controls include: Ohms zero adjustment, AC - DC - Select, a 12 position Function / Range

selector switch, and eight recessed probe jacks. 

The back of the case has an "adapter lock" for use with "Add-A-Tester" accessories.

The printed circuit boards can now withstand higher voltages than previous models.

The batteries can be installed without taking the whole unit apart.

The batteries used in this model are a single "D" cell, plus four "AA" batteries, there are two "AA"

below the "D" and one "AA" on each side.  The batteries can be installed without 

doing anything but removing the back of the case.

The Adjust-A-View handle can also support the meter in a sloping position for viewing.
