Look for this on the back of your meter for this adapter lock.
The adapter lock was added to all cases after June 1, 1959.
The above adapters will work with the Simpson 260 Series 3 through Series 6, and the 260
Series 2 with adapters. They can also be used with the 261and Simpson 270 Models through Series 4.
The first two models used pin jacks and "reverse banana" jacks have been used since Series 7.
The 270 switched to "reverse banana" jacks for Series 5.
